SCORING
Day 1 & 2 Stroke Play
Day 1 foursomes will be arranged according to rankings submitted prior to the tournament.
Day 2 foursomes will be arranged according to the scores from day 1.
Foursomes will be made up of golfers from four different schools.
Gross score of the top four players each day is the team aggregate score. Different players can contribute each day. Gross scores after two days determine the team rankings for the day three match play.
Player | ROUND 1 | ROUND 2 |
---|---|---|
Buster Posey | 85 | 88 |
Miguel Cabrera | 78 | 75 |
Mike Trout | 99 | 93 |
Derek Jeter | 96 | 105 |
Brandon Belt | 88 | 98 |
Josh Reddick | 102 | 99 |
In this example, Buster, Miguel, Derek, and Brandon hold the top four scores for round 1 (day 1) in their team. The team's gross score for day 1 would be the sum of their four scores. Day 2 works the same.
The team's aggregate score is the sum of the gross scores (DAY 1 GROSS + DAY 2 GROSS) for both days. The aggregate scores for all six teams (per gender) are used to rank the match play round.
Day 3 Match Play
Match play ranking is determined from the aggregate scores as explained in the stroke play section.
The top two teams play for gold, the 3rd and the 4th play for bronze, and the last two play for placing only.
1 point is earned for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, and 0 for a loss. All six matches count. Winner of the match is the team with most points.
